Description

Sr Data Analyst with ability to design, modify and program in Access Databases using SQL and VBA to analyze and integrate Human Resources (HR) data from multiple non-integrated sources. Data Analysis, Excel, and end to end problem-solving abilities are critical.

CSC's U.S. Shared Service Center, Human Resources Shared Services, Affirmative Action (HRSS AA) group is in need of additional data analysis support. These individuals will assist in the design, implementation and maintenance of database structures/front end applications in a 2nd tier client-server HRIS environment [Access, SQL server, VBA and Excel]. The data analysis involves designing/modifying complex reports, forms and queries in Access. Current data analysis processing occurs in Microsoft Access applications linked to server-based databases, such as Oracle and SQL Server 2005, and is primarily concerned with data cleansing techniques to synthesize duplicate and mismatched data records into structures suitable for reporting. The processing also involves using advanced Excel functions (vlookup, pivot tables, macros) and VB scripting in Excel. This is an avenue to use creative VBA skills to develop and deploy more robust applications that allow users to complete business processes from beginning to end. Data sources include but are not limited to user generated SAP Queries, CSV files, and large volume Excel spreadsheets originating from multiple non-integrated Databases containing Human Resources and EEO/Affirmative related data. This is an opportunity to assist with the transformation of data analysis as a data collection and extraction function to one that has impacts on business process and strategy.

**The primary/preferred location for this position is Sterling or Chantilly, VA, however other CSC office locations will be considered.**
