PHP Developer
6 month contract to start
Mount Laurel, NJ

[size="1"]Position Summary:[/size]
[size="1"]This is a PHP development position within the Network Engineering group reporting to the Director of Network Analysis and Development Services. The group has responsibility for pro-active analysis of the nationwide IP network and all the services provided. The web developer will play a role in designing and developing web front ends, dashboards, and GUI related tools, advanced data visualization (Tufte), as well as service automation front ends and wizards.[/size]

[size="1"]Main Responsibilities:[/size]
[size="1"]o Participate in the software tool development lifecycle including specification, design, implementation, testing and documentation with a focus on Web front ends, and GUIs.[/size]
[size="1"]o Creation and maintenance of various dashboards and reports.[/size]
[size="1"]o Maintain and enhance existing software applications based on new requirements and customer feedback.[/size]
[size="1"]o Evaluate, recommend and adopt new technologies, tools and libraries.[/size]
[size="1"]o Work independently and provide clear documented status of work activities and business issues that impact the department.[/size]
[size="1"]o Provide technical tier 5 support during the rollout of new products / services as required.[/size]
[size="1"]o Participate on interdepartmental teams to support organizational goals.[/size]
[size="1"]o Perform other related duties and tasks as assigned.[/size]
[size="1"]Experience:[/size]
[size="1"]o Minimum of 7 years experience in software development.[/size]
[size="1"]o Development in PHP, HTML 4 & 5, CSS 2 & 3, Javascript, JQuery (Javascript Framework); experience with ZEND (PHP Framework) a HUGE plus.[/size]
[size="1"]o Experience in Agile software design (scrum, etc.) and development is a plus.[/size]
[size="1"]o An understanding of semantic HTML programming.[/size]
[size="1"]o Object Oriented Programing (OOP) understanding required.[/size]
[size="1"]o Experience in XML and XSLT is required.[/size]
[size="1"]o Experience with using ODBC/JDBCs to connect to various relational databases (MySQL, PostgreSQL, Oracle, etc.) is required.[/size]
[size="1"]o Experience in web-based systems and client-server development is required.[/size]
[size="1"]o Creative, self-motivated team player.[/size]
[size="1"]o Demonstrated initiative to initiate and build relationships both internally and externally.[/size]
[size="1"]o Proven ability to manage multiple tasks/projects[/size]
[size="1"]Core skills MUST have:[/size]
