Hyderabad, Feb 1: The CBI Special Court granted anticipatory bail for Thummala Ranga Rao of Stylish Homes on Wednesday. With this, Ranga Rao has become the only accused granted bail in the Emaar case.

The court has granted him bail as CBI did not raise any objection.Fearing arrest, Ranga Rao, who has been giving valuable information to the CBI, applied for anticipatory bail. The CBI has also not opposed the bail as he has been cooperating with it.

The CBI told the court that he has been appearing before it whenever asked and hence had no objection to his being granted bail. This was opposed by Sushil Kumar, counsel of Sunil Reddy, a close aide of Y S Jaganmohan Reddy, who suggested that the CBI should arrest him first as he was an accused and then he could turn an approver.

The court, on completion of the arguments, granted bail to Ranga Rao on two sureties of Rs 25,000 thousand each. The court also directed that he should not leave Hyderabad, without its permission. The court also asked him to be again present before it on February 6.

The court, on Wednesday granted special status to Sunil Reddy. Now he will join the elite group of prisoners enjoying special status in the Chanchalguda prison with Gali Janardana Reddy, Vijaya Sai Reddy and IAS officer Srilakshmi.
