Bangalore: Dr.Poonam Alaigh, an Indian American has been appointed to the board of advisors in Perminova, which is a company that develops web-based software for the nation’s leading cardiology centers based in La Jolla, Calif. Earlier she served as the commissioner of the department of Health and Senior services for New Jersey.



Poonam handled diverse areas including healthcare policies, public health, senior care and regulatory supervision of healthcare organizations in the state.


Craig K. Collins, CEO of Perminova said ‘’Poonam’s knowledge on health care will be extremely beneficial to our high-growth health technology company.”


Formerly Poonam also served as executive medical director of Horizon Blue Cross Shield of New Jersey, national medical director at GlaxoSmithKline Pharmaceuticals, medical director at Vytra Health Plans of New York and associate medical director of the Long Island Medical Care Group.


Poonam did her clinical practice from Veteran’s administration Hospital in Lyons. She works for the American Heart Association and is also a member of the AHA founders affiliate and board president in New Jersey. She is also assistant professor at UMDNJ-Robert Wood Johnson Medical School.


Poonam completed her M.D. from Lady Hardinge Medical College, Delhi University and did M.S. in health care policy and management from SUNY at Stony Brook in New York.
