Hyderabad, Feb 2: Ousted minister Dr P Shankar Rao resurfced again after loosing his ministrial berth in recent cabinet reshuffle. Extending solidarity, former minister Shankar Rao on Thursday said that the allocations made for payment of stipend to the junior doctors was a pittance when compared to public money looted by Karnataka former minister Gali Janardhan Reddy and the YSR Congress Party Chief Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy.

Supporting Junior Doctors, who were on indefinite hunger strike for the last nine days at Gandhi Hospital demanding that the State government solve their problems, Dr Shanker Rao advised the government not to play with the lives of innocent medical students instead of dealing with corrupt people. He said that he would bring the issue of negligent attitude of the State government towards medical students to the notice of AICC Chief Sonia Gandhi and AICC general secretary Rahul Gandhi. Dr Rao assured the Junior Doctors that he would discuss the issue with Health Minister Dr D L Ravindra Reddy.

Meanwhile, the Junior Doctors prepared an effigy of the State government and played with it. The medicos took round the “scull” of the State government round the premises of the Hospital alleging that it has no mind. The Junior Doctors, once again reiterated that they would not go back on their demands even as the government was trying to scare them in the name of enforcing ESMA against them.
