Suggestions Needed On Sending Laptop To India Through Usps

Hi Friends,

I am thinking to send one of my old laptops to india. Actually i thought of sending through friends who will be going to india but everyone who travels to india carries more than one laptop to their relatives so i dont have an option to send it with relatives or friends. I am thinking to send it through UPS or USPS , Can anyone suggest me whether it is a good process to send laptops through these servcies. because i heard that customs in india some times will hold the packages until they complete their process. Please suggest me any good ideas........

India lo Tax ekkada pay cheyali. Suppose iam sending my lappy to hyderabad to my residential address. before my family receives the package do i need to pay the tax by going some where or else whats the process?
