Work independently to elicit test cases, to execute test cases hands-on, and to manage a testing schedule for the verification of a high-visibility marketing data integration project.

The work to be tested is two-way integration of data inserts, updates and business rule calculations exchanged between a marketing database hosted by our client and a new database that is the backend of SalesPage Financial (SP), a new sales tool being deployed by our client’s client. This integration will replace an existing integration between our client and their end client’s current Sales database

The marketing database hosted by our client integrates data from several sources, in addition to the Sales database. Thus it’s necessary to develop regression tests to verify data exchange across these several sources, in addition to the verification of the new SP integration. The goal is to verify the integrity of data integration between all sources.

The person responsible for testing will need to get up to speed quickly on the mechanics of our client’s marketing data integration with the end client, so previous experience with marketing data integration would be helpful. For example, testing involves verification of “best record” logic, round-trip data exchange (inserts, updates and associated business rules), segmentation logic and data appends, etc.

Our client has a basic unit test framework implemented in T-SQL. Test fixture set-up is a manual process. Thus hands-on T-SQL skills are required. Results auditing will also require hands-on T-SQL skills. A background as a data analyst would be helpful. The ideal candidate can take this opportunity to implement some test automation via T-SQL scripting, C# or VBA scripting, in order to replace some of the manual set-up and verification work. Documentation and results reporting is also expected, so technical writing skills are essential.
