No cash payments will be accepted.

How to submit an application at the New York visa office

Before submitting

You must have a complete application prior to submitting it during our drop off hours.
A complete application consists of the following:

All the required application forms completed and validated online (including Schedule 1 and the Family Information Form)

You must sign documents where required

You must enter your family name(s) and given name(s) in the appropriate boxes on the application form. Enter them in the correct order as shown on your passport.

The computer-generated bar code page (generated when you complete and validate your application form online. Do not staple the bar code page to the application, nor to any other document)

NOTE: Submitting handwritten application forms may result in longer processing times. We strongly recommend completing and validating your application form online.

The required processing fee (exact amount; no cash).

Two photos (photos MUST be glued or stapled to bottom left corner of the first page of your main application form)

Valid passport(s)

Authority to Release Form (IMM5475) or Authority to Represent (IMM5476) if someone submits or picks up an application on your behalf.

All other required supporting documents (such as proof of funds, employment, school enrollment, etc. Check our website for more detailed information).
How to apply by mail

The Visa Section accepts applications by mail. Applicants who wish to mail their application are advised to review the Mailing Instructions.
Note that while applications for Permanent Resident Travel Documents (PRTD) can be submitted by mail, applicants may be called in for an interview.
We cannot speed up your application. If your application is urgent, consider applying in person.
