[color=#3B3A39][font=Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif][size=2][left]Bhanu Kiran, the prime accused in the killing of factionist Suri, was stated to have earned Rs. 18.5 crore by getting certain works pertaining to Hundri Neeva project allotted to some contractors, the CID said on Friday.[/left][/size][/font][/color]
[color=#3B3A39][font=Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif][size=2][left]The CID, which interrogated Bhanu for the last nine days, learnt that he had ensured that works worth Rs. 178 crore of the project, were allotted to JK Constructions, GVR Constructions and Coastal Constructions by preventing other companies from filing tenders. In lieu of this benefit, Bhanu and his mentor Suri got certain bits which were given to some persons, who paid them Rs.18.5 crore, the CID Additional DG S.V. Ramana Murthy said.[/left][/size][/font][/color]
[color=#3B3A39][font=Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif][size=2][left]Bhanu confessed to settling 23 land and monetary disputes and that he had purchased several acres of land in the State, mostly on the outskirts of Hyderabad. In one deal, he had collected Rs.1.2 crore from film producer Shiva Ram Krishna in a dispute pertaining to seven acres of land near Chirec Public School in Kondapur.[/left][/size][/font][/color]
[color=#3B3A39][font=Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif][size=2][left]Through his associates, Dantuluri Krishna alias Mangali Krishna and Sudhakar Naidu, Bhanu had procured nine firearms. Two of these weapons were recovered from Bhanu and his accomplice, S. Subbaiah. Two more firearms were recovered from another member of the gang, Vishnu Vardhan Reddy, the previous day. The Anantapur district police were instructed to recover the remaining weapons.[/left][/size][/font][/color]
