Dinosaur Farts 'caused' Jurassic-Era Global Warming

[font=Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif][size=3][left]Boffins from Liverpool John Moore's University in Britain said the methane output of sauropods - the dinosaur family that includes gigantic eaters such as the Brontosaurus - was around 520 million tonnes.[/left][/size][/font]
[font=Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif][size=3][left]This 'gas', after it was released into the atmosphere seems to have caused considerable bit of global warming.[/left][/size][/font]
[font=Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif][size=3][left]Comparing this 'dino release' to present day cows one of the scientists was quoted by the BBC as saying:[/left][/size][/font]
[font=Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif][size=3][left]"Although it's the dinosaur element that captures the popular imagination with this work, actually it is the microbes living in the dinosaurs guts that are making the methane... Cows today produce something like 50-100 (million tonnes) per year. Our best estimate for Sauropods is around 520 (million tonnes)."[/left][/size][/font]
