Jagan Threatened Investors:cbi

The Central Bureau of Investigation has strongly defended its action of freezing the accounts of Sakshi daily, channel and Janani Infra companies, owned by YSR Congress party president Y S Jaganmohan Reddy.

In its counter filed before the special CBI court on Thursday, the CBI officials said most of the investors who had put in money in Jagan’s companies had not done it voluntarily.

“There were several instances of Jagan threatening the shareholders and forced them to put in money in his media house,” the CBI counsel said.

The CBI pointed out that one NRI Madhav Chandran had deposed before the agency that he was threatened by Jagan’s auditor V Vijay Sai Reddy and forced to invest Rs 39.60 crore. Even bribes given by the others were also shown as investments in the media house, the CBI said.

The arguments are still going on in the court.
