Jr Ntr Explanation: Surrender Or Strategic?

The way young hero Junior NTR gave a lengthy explanation to the media on Saturday on the recent political controversies surrounding him has created an interesting debate in the media circles as to whether he has completely surrendered to wily Telugu Desam Party president N Chandrababu Naidu or beat a strategic retreat.

The media interview was basically on the success of his latest film Dammu. But the way anchor raised the questions about the recent controversy appeared to be completely deliberate and it was pretty evident that Jr NTR wanted the issue to be raised so that he can put the record straight. He tried to wash off his hands saying that he had nothing to do with the politics of Vijayawada TDP urban unit president Vallabhaneni Vamsi, saying the latter was just a producer of his film Adurs.

However, it is an open secret that Jr NTR, Vamsi and Kodali Nani are very good friends and there is much more among them than just film making. Those who have been observing Vijayawada politics are also aware that Vamsi, Nani and Vangaveeti Radhakrishna (who recently joined YSR Congress party) are bosom friends and they quite often meet Jr NTR.

Now, the young hero says those who had dragged his name into the Vamsi-Jagan hugging episode were vested interests. But Jr NTR did not clarify who those vested interests were and why they were spreading rumours. It was known to everybody that the fans of Nandamuri Balakrishna spread text messages through mobiles against Jr NTR. So, one can easily understand whom Jr NTR was referring to as vested interests. And in the entire interview, he did not take the name of either Balakrishna or Chandrababu Naidu, while saying that he would continue to support the TDP.

Thus, it is clear that Jr NTR made a strategic retreat and is waiting for an opportunity to strike back. How and when he does it remains to be seen.
