Raja was seen in court on Tuesday wearing a white shirt and grey pants. His wife, M A Parmesweri, was with him. He was seen joking in court an hour before the order was announced with M Kanimozhi, also a leader from his DMK party.
Kanimozhi, daughter of former Tamil Nadu chief minister and DMK chief M Karunanidhi, had also spent six months in prison till she was given bail in November 2011.

Raja has sought bail on the ground of parity with other 13 co-accused who have already secured it from the Supreme Court, Delhi high court and the trial court.
In his bail plea, Raja had said that case against him is "false and fabricated" and "not sustainable in law."
The former minister was the only one who was still in Delhi's Tihar Jail.
The CBI had vehemently opposed Raja's bail saying he cannot be released on the ground of parity as the charges levelled against him are of serious nature.
During the probe, it has come to light that Raja and others received bribe of another Rs. 200 crore in connection with the spectrum scam, it said.
The charges against Mr Raja are hefty. For giving away licenses at dirt-cheap rates to companies that were ineligible, he has been accused of breach of trust by a public servant - a charge that could see him getting a life sentence if he is found guilty
