Google acquired youtube in 2006....but it (youtube) made revenues only last year....from 2006 oct to 2011 youtube was a loss making company under google...google burnt money for more than five yrs on youtube when finally it made money in mid-2011.

google is still running on losses with youtube ..

daaniki maintenance ki kuda raavatedhu dabbulu from youtube,

but they are spending money because google ads ni baaga ekkuvaga vestunnaru ...

99% of googles revenues are from ads just as with youtube.
Also youtube is the second most searched website after google.
