The GHMC has suspended one deputy executive engineer and an assistant engineer, besides two executive engineers surrendering following the unearthing of five forged signatures of the South zone Commissioner.[/font][/color][color=#3B3A39][font=Georgia,]

Two more cases of scamming visual inspection reports were detected by the Zonal commissioner and the same was taken to the notice of the police. All the cases were filed at the Moghulpura police station on December 15 last year. Further, 38 works were put up for a departmental enquiry, the council was informed by Commissioner M.T. Krishna Babu.[/font][/color][color=#3B3A39][font=Georgia,]
In fact, there have been charges that in the same zone which comprises most parts of old city, many works were sanctioned on a nomination basis. The zone has the highest number of works sanctioned compared to all other zones at 4,405 estimated to cost Rs.16.46 crore last year.
