By-Poll: 79 Nominations Filed On Wednesday

[font=arial,helvetica,sans-serif]Hyderabad, May 23: State Election Officer Banwarlal on Wednesday said that a total of 141 nominations were filed till date for the June 12 by-elections in 18 Assembly constituencies and one Lok Sabha seat.[/font]

[font=arial,helvetica,sans-serif]Speaking to media persons in his chamber in the Secretariat, Banwarlal said that 79 nominations were filed on Wednesday alone. He explained that three nomination papers were filed for the Nellore Lok Sabha constituency and 76 nominations for the 18 Assembly constituencies.[/font]

[font=arial,helvetica,sans-serif]The State Election Officer said that bind-over cases were registered against 24,754 persons in all the election bound constituencies. He also disclosed that so far the police had seized 21.55 crores in cash, 1.29 lakh litres of liquor and 415 vehicles.[/font]
