Resigned excise and prohibition minister Mopidevi Venkataramana has blamed it on YSR Congress party president Y S Jaganmohan Reddy for his arrest by the CBI in the VANPIC case.
“I have become a victim of Jaganmohan Reddy’s lust for money. I had not taken any decision on VANPIC on my own. All that I had done was to sincerely follow the orders of our then leader Y S Rajasekhara Reddy. I was forced to sign the files pertaining to VANPIC orders under pressure from the then CM’s special secretary M G V K Bhanu. I didn’t gain anything from the project,” he said in his three-page resignation letter to chief minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy.
Mopidevi explained at length how he came up in his life from an ordinary fishermen’s family to the level of minister.
“I have nothing to hide in my life. I am unnecessarily being made a scapegoat in the case,” he lamented.

This is very true...Every politician and minister is part and parcel of India's corruption but most of them think twice before committing corruption on a massive scale like VANPIC. Mopidevi many more ministers have questioned about lot of projects and raised doubts with YSR before signing but there is only one response from the former..."Nuvvu sign cheyyavayya neenu chusukunta" There are instances where Jagan put lot of pressure on YSR to get things done.
