Illegal manual slaughtering of animals in different parts of the city is likely to continue for some more time. Clearly, it will take another four months or more before the four modern slaughter houses become operational.
Construction of modern slaughterhouses has been underway at Amberpet, New Bhoiguda, Gowlipura and Ramnaspura for the last couple of years and they were supposed to be operational in December, 2010.
