Jagan Case: Ed Preparing Ground For Serious Probe

The Directorate of Enforcement (ED) is preparing the ground for an intensive probe into the illegal assets case against Kadapa MP Y.S. Jaganmohan Reddy, particularly under the provisions of the Prevention of Money-Laundering Act, 2002.[/font][/color][color=#3B3A39][font=Georgia,]
As an extension of its preparatory work, the ED on Tuesday secured permission from the Principal Special Court for CBI Cases to get a copy of the charge-sheet filed against the former Industries Secretary, Y. Srilakshmi, by the CBI. The court gave its nod after the CBI informed it that it had no objections in giving away a copy of the charge-sheet requested for by the ED.[/font][/color][color=#3B3A39][font=Georgia,]
When the ED approached the special court seeking permission to interrogate the persons who were already arrested in the case, including those in judicial custody, the special court judge directed the ED to serve notices on the respondents so that they could file counters in case they had any legal objections for being probed by the ED.[/font][/color]
