Mayor Majid Hussain on Thursday sought submission of a detailed report from GHMC Commissioner M.T. Krishna Babu on the advertising wing covering issues like revenue or lack of it from bus shelters, hoardings, unipoles, signboards and the likes to the standing committee.[/font][/color][color=#3B3A39][font=Georgia,]
“Action will be initiated based on the report submitted,” he informed corporators at the council meeting today. Earlier, members led by former Deputy Mayor Jaffer Hussain tore into the functioning of the department pointing out to the policy inconsistencies, hoarding/advertising agencies ruling the roost with illegal poles, hoardings, bus shelters, etc., and the municipal corporation losing crores of rupees in revenue in the process.[/font][/color][color=#3B3A39][font=Georgia,]
