Story:

Harish Chandra Prasad (Balayya – old char) is a righteous man who dedicates his life for the uplifting of poor people in the Rayalaseema region. He eyes foreign investors to set up a huge iron ore project in the region and in the process of land acquisition for the project, he earns lot of enemies from the local factionists who have encroached the Government land and in the process, he enters politics. His son Rama Krishna Prasad (Balayya – middle char) follows his father and protect him like a shadow. Ill fate plays a cruel joke on the family, Harish Chandra Prasad’s own grand son, Babi (Young Balayya) under the influence of baddies kills him at a young age. And after 25 years, Babi meets his family but interestingly, his father does not accept him. What happens next? How is the peace restored in the family and the regions forms the actual story.

Performances:

Balakrishna played three characters in the movie as Grand father, father and son. He carried out all of them with grace. He is calm and composed as Harish Chandra Prasad. He reminded of Senior NTR in several shots. The character is very shot but will enthrall fans with the fond memories of Senior NTR and his political life. And the middle get up as Rama Krishna Prasad is the heart of the movie. The character is an etch of Balayya’s image among fans and masses. He is violent, rebellious and a man with subtle emotions. And the last character Babi is good. Balayya had put in good effort in dances in the role. The comedy scenes between Brahmanandham and Babi will stand as a highlight of the movie.
Saloni does a guest role and is limited to few minutes and a song. Lakshmi Rai has very little to offer in terms of action and was confined to skin show. Jaya Sudha played the wife of Harish Chandra Prasad’s in a short role and is goos. Pradeep Rawat and Kota Srinivas Rao are good as baddies. Rest all are okay.

Technical Performance:

The basic story of the film is very simple and the director had managed to create high voltage action drama in Rayalaseema back drop. The director chose to show the softer side in the first half and violent angle in the second half. He tried hard to make the movie universally appealing with some family drama in the second half. He got it right in terms of story and plot but fell short in narrating the story perfectly. Direction is good in parts.
Sameer Reddy’s cinematography is good. Kalyani Mallik’s back ground score is average and the songs are composed keeping Balayya’s image in mind. Kotagiri should have taken care in the editing department.

Highlights:
1. Balayya’s getup as Harish Chandra Prasad and its resemblance to NTR Senior.
2. Balayya’s role as Rama Krishna Prasad
3. Brahmanandham as a mental patient had evoked thunderous response
4. Picturisation of Title song
5. Powerful dialogues with some indirect references to current events

Drawbacks:
1. Slow narration
2. Young Balayya’s awkward costumes
3. Over dose of family sentiment in second half

Verdict:
First half of the film is good with some excellent comedy. Second half goes a bit wayward with family drama interrupting the flow. The plus points of the film are Balayya and the heroism elevated scenes for which fans go mad. However, the inconsistency in the story narration had let down the movie a bit. The commercial success of the film depends on how masses embrace this film.
