[center]When I was a kid, group spelling of your school name on sports day had run out of steam. If you're going to still go ahead with something like that, make sure you let the cameramen know, so we can at least read what the human bulbs were trying to do apart from looking like trying to board the bus on a busy weekday, with the odd electrode jabbed into them to light things up. From the music that sounded like some IPL bigshot's wishlist as a kid (UB40, ABBA duplicates, Lionel Richie, Heat Is On) to the back/front-projection confused event name shadily hanging, laterally inverted, inside the kind of drapes that Indians who were hormonally-charged in the 80s imagined their honeymoon nights would be all about. Opening ceremonies are often farcical with the cricket ones especially so - if i recall right, the T20 WC one didn't even take off. Quite likely that a U Srinivas, Zakir Hussain or Shobana might have refused to perform here given the timeslots available, but a painful opener anyhow![/center]
