Imagine someone you know got a life threatening illness. It is going to be challenging - physically and emotionally. Right now, our friend Murali Krishna is going through that situation.
 
Murali was diagnosed with hypergamma-globulinemia disorder - a very rare immunity disorder. A person with this illness produces excessive amounts of gamma globulin, which affects the patient’s immune system. Medication for the treatment is expensive. Patient has to take 4 doses of Intravenous immunoglobulin (IVIG) every month and each dose costs around $300, making the total dose to cost $1200 every month.
 
In our part of India where Murali krishnan is from, there is no insurance coverage, and all expense is out of the pocket expense. You can imagine how difficult it will be to pay $1200 per month, in addition to all the other medical expense required for the treatment. Even someone with a good financial background will find this monthly expense a challenge. Having a poor financial background makes the situation worse.
