Seeking an established Senior Application Developer/Analyst  with primary strengths in Oracle SQL,  and PL/SQL to support the U.S. Census Bureau Geography Division in Suitland, MD. This Developer will be a key member of a team, and lead the requirements collection and analysis, data modeling, software design, development, debugging, implementation  and enhancement of new/existing software programs.  

 

 

 

Major Responsibilities

·         Architect, design, develop, enhance, debug, and implement application improvements.

·         Based on client requirements- research, test, build, and convert and/or integrate new products. 

·         Lead analyst consulting with project teams and end users to identify and document application requirements.

·         Must successfully assist/mentor junior developers and build cohesion on the team .

·         Perform feasibility analysis on potential future projects to management.

·         Lead the evaluation and recommendation of application software packages, application integration and testing tools.

·         Ability to resolve problems with software and generate suggestions for improvements/enhancements.

·         Extremely effective communication skills both, verbal and written; pivotal role with the customer’s managers and senior personnel.

 

 

 

Required Skills

·         5 years Oracle SQL AND PL/SQL experience.

·         5 years Java experience.

·         Previous leadership with software architecture and design.

·         Experience with data modeling and solutions architecture.

·         Experience in creating, modifying stored procedures and programming using SQL/PL-SQL

·         Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of an integrated team.

·         Highly analytical, possessing critical and creative thinking skills.

·         Strong interpersonal skills to maintain effective working relationships with team and customers.

 

 

Optional/Desirable Skills

·         Experience with Geospatial data and data formats a plus.

·         Experience with address data processing and Census data.

 

 

 

Education and Experience

·         Bachelor’s Degree in a related technical discipline, or the equivalent combination of education, technical training or work experience.

·         8 years of total related experience.
