Is she on H4? Ask your employer to add in your insurance. Since your adding a dependent in the current Insurance you have to submit her i94 as a proof that she recently entered to USA( This differs by insurance company).

Thanks all for the replies.

I do have an insurance with my employer and adding her to my insurance costs me a lot.

Insurance only for me is reasonable but when I add spouse it is increasing a lot. So I'm trying to find one from outside individually for her.

And the reason I'm asking for plans or place to get individual insurance.

Singles ki insurance always low untadi, when you add a dependent (spouse) it will be more than double.....so either you can take insurance outside or add it to your's, it wont make much difference. Check how much it is costing in both the ways.

I took health insurance for my wife outside (obamacare (healthcare.gov anukunta). I couldn't add her to my existing insurance. There is a law which states that life changing event ayyaka you have 31 days to update your insurance. Life changing event means, marriage, birth of a child, divorce, death etc......nenu naa wife ni add chedam anesariki time aipoindhi....it was more than 31 days since I got married.......US ki arrive aina date nundi 31 days untundi anukunna...but its actually based on wedding date (they might ask marriage certificate....so dont lie in this case). So in your case, if you got married more than 31days, then i dont think you can add your wife in your current insurance (pls check with your HR / Employer again).

So the only option left for you is taking insurance outside......obamacare is cheapest one........call customer service number mentioned in healthcare.gov and they will help you create an account and they will ask your wife's passport number + i94 number....once they validate those information....they will give you list of options that you can choose......nenu United Health, BCBS, Land of Lincoln, Aetna plans compare chesa.......within these plans...check which one suits you and your wife better. Elagu end of the yr kada...so pick anything for now.......and 2016 insurance ki maathram enroll her into your plan

again....life changing event date nundi 31days untadi to modify your insurance in the middle of the yr..........I dont think each company has its own rule....endukante, my manager and my director requested my HR director to consider my case as special one and let them add my wife to my insurance policy........but HR director clearly replied with an email stating that this is a federal law and not company policy and that there is nothing our company can do abt it (she also attached me the document on that federal Law)
