JEE Main 2016 State Code of Eligibility

State Code of Eligibility” means the state from which the candidates have passed their class XII or its equivalent qualifying examination through which they become eligible to appear for JEE Main 2016. If the candidate has passed in class XII in one state and has appeared for improvement in another state then the candidate’s state code of eligibility will the state from which they have passed their class XII or its equivalent qualifying exam.

If a candidate has passed the qualifying examination from abroad then the state code of eligibility will be determined based on the permanent Indian address mentioned in the passport of the candidate. The state codes of eligibility of all the participating states are listed below.

JEE Main 2016:

There are two types of JEE - JEE Main and JEE Advanced. JEE Main is for getting admission into NIT's (National Institute of Technology), IIIT's (Indian Institute of Information Technology), CFTIs (Central Funded Technical Institute) and IIEST Shibpur. JEE Advanced is for getting admission into IIT's (Indian Institute of Technology) and Indian School of Mines Dhanbad.

JEE Main 2016 Exam Pattern:

JEE Main consists of two different types of tests Paper 1 and Paper 2. Paper 1 is for eligible B.E and B.Tech and Paper 2 is eligible for B.Arch / B.Planning. For paper 1 there is two modes of examination pen and paper examination and online examination. For paper 2 there is only pen and paper exam. Paper 1 consists of 90 questions equally from Physics, Chemistry and mathematics. Paper 2 consists of three divisions first one is from mathematics, second one from aptitude, third one from drawing.
