luenlary Posted December 14, 2015 Report Share Posted December 14, 2015 JEE Main Seat Allotment 2016 Admission to NITS, IIITS, CFTIS, SFIS, State Engineering Colleges for Participating States and Other Participating InstitutionsAdmission to NITs, IITs and other institutions participating through Seat Allocation Board: Admission to NITs, IITs and other institutions who participate through central allocation board will be based on All India Ranking along with the subject combinations preferred by the candidates for JEE Main. The eligibility criteria and Subject combinations are as follows For B.E/B.Tech the subjects required in class 12th or its equivalent qualifying exam are Language, Physics, Mathematics, Chemistry/Biology/Biotechnology/Technical Vocational Subject and any other subject with at least 45% marks in all the subjects for all the categories except reserved category. For reserved category it is 40%. For B.Arch/ B.Planning the compulsory subject is Mathematics along with all the other five subjects with a total of 50% marks.For admission to IITs: H.S.C Vocational examination A Diploma recognized by AICTE or a state board of technical education of at least 3 year duration General Certificate Education (GCE) examination (London / Cambridge / Sri Lanka) at the Advanced (A) level. High School Certificate Examination of the Cambridge University or International Baccalaureate Diploma of the International Baccalaureate Office, Geneva.Admission to other institutions: The above eligibility criteria can also be adopted by other Centrally Funded Technical Institutions (CFTIs). If a state decides to select the candidate for engineering colleges which are affiliated to state universities then the respected state can prepare their own rank list based on the eligibility criteria decided by them.Reservation of seats: JEE Main Secretariat serves as the examination conducting body. After the results are declared the data is handed over to Seat Allocation Board or to the respective state government or institutes for the selection and admission process. JEE Main Secretariat does not have the details regarding the total number of seats available and the eligibility criteria for each institution.Reservation of seats for various categories: The seats are allotted to each category based on certain criteria. There are four categories to which reservation is made based on the rules of the state to which the engineering college belongs. The categories are Other Backward Class (OBC) Scheduled Castes (SC) Scheduled Tribes (ST) Persons with Disability (PWD) The candidates name should be published in the central list under their respective categories mentioned in the application form to get the reservation benefits.Seat allotment process: The candidates will be allotted seat based on their choices made while applying online for JEE Main 2016. The candidates are allowed to choose their programmes and institutions of their choice at the time of filling up the application form. The seat allotment process includes verification of documents and verification of revised board mark sheet if any changes are made to the ranks due to rechecking or re evaluation or re totalling of the board marks. The candidates should produce all the necessary documents required for the admission. If the candidates fail to submit any of the authentic documents then the candidate will not be considered for admission. The documents are required by the institutions or the engineering colleges to verify the authenticity of the details of the candidate like their age, qualifying examination, state of eligibility, category, identification and disability (if any). The candidate should also produce their original community certificate which is issued by any competent authority at the time of seat allocation process and at the time of admission.
