Yeah ade cheputunna, for us we have to stay and work in the US for 10 years to be able to claim these benefits after our retirement. Naadi inko 2 years lo 10 years work experience autundi US lo so I can claim for these benefits after I retire even I were living in India at the time of retirement. 

 

But of course, if you don't work here for 10 years you end up foregoing all those taxes. Whereas for countries like Singapore, Australia etc their Governments have a deal with the US Govt that their citizens can claim for these benefits no matter how long they have worked in the US. 

 

This is an initiative that should have been taken up by our Government, the NRI lobby should have put pressure on the Govt to discuss this. However, knowing our people they are busy doing Hawala schemes, running consultancies and looting people once they get their GCs instead of focusing on issues of this sort.
