Early in 1800's people saw Orcas killing Whales. So they called it as Whale Killer. Eventually it was changed to Killer Whale. Orca is a short form of its scientific name.

Yeah. There are several instances where dolphins and fish beached themselves to escape from these ruthless killers. But amazingly these killers like Humans and never attacked them in the wild. They even saved drowning humans and protected them from sharks.

They took a minute or two to figure out the strategy to get that seal out into water. They created waves by swimming synchronously and those waves knocked it into water. These Orcas are highly intelligent. They work in teams(Pods).
