Assalu Ee Reservations Only

ParmQ

See, if they don't want to go for inter-caste..they just have to forget about the reservation and get back in the ladder. when feel the pain of poverty...guddha kalinappudu valle chesukuntaaru.

No reservation based on existing perserlized castes. Its for the off-spring of parents who are from different castes. In 5 to 6 generations down the line, saying I am from mala, or komati, or chow or reddy should become irrelevant in the society.

still there's the problem of giving reservation to kids of people from two rich castes.

anyway, the problem with your suggestion is, India is a democracy. :(

unlike the other countries you mentioned.

yeah. what ParmQ said already exists. but he wants to reservation available only for those kind of marriages.

intercaste marriages is not a great solution to eradicate or to eliminate caste system. it works up to certain level. In reality a Brahmin won't like to marry a SC (I'm not generalizing though). coz their life style varies a lot. It's not their mistake. only in a few cases it'll happen if both the families are broadminded and won't consider their customs or traditions are their barriers. but to those people who want their living style to be same and preserve their traditions they can't go for these kind of relations to bring the equality in the society, where the financial / merit categorization does.

there can be a few changes . If Chows and Reddy marry...only 5% reservation. If OCs and SCs marry...35% reservation. Its basically to eradicate the caste system from the society. and to make existing castes irrelevant in a few generations.

Once upon a time women coming outside of home was a big taboo. Now, its the same with mixing the castes, if the society has more of these mixed people, ..people don't feel estranged to this concept and then brahmins and every one will not have too much avertion towards this idea.

If you start specifying caste names, how can you make them irrelevant?

it's actually a debatable topic bro.

Hope for a better society not so sooner but at some point before humans become extinct @3$%

The only problem is, ParmQ, you misread why reservations even exist.

Its fine if there are a milllion castes in India. That's not a problem for the indian identity. As long as they are represented politically, and in government services.

rest of the economy is free from govt. control.

reservations don't actually hurt the upper castes as much as they think it does.

I am talking about taking the existing class system as base for starting point. Its not rocket scince to devise a plan at least for 10 years or something like that. the off-spring of OCs and OCs will have sertain reservation level.. and etc. and SCs and SCs will not be eligible for marriage. similarly BCs and BCs. It would be different castes. OCs and SCs. OCs and STs, BCs and OCs, BCs and SCs...something like that. Its not rocket science. Its just nake the existing caste irrelavent at least for a some years.

reservations quota can be scientifically/statistically arrived at, than letting politicians promise it.

that's the best india can do.

what's the point of caste based census then.
