Can Nris Renew Passport In India? Any Restrictions?

My passport expiring in 6 months and I am planning to visit India and also would like to go for stamping after passport renewal.

 

can NRIs renew passport in India? any restrictions?

I heard that there is a need of staying 1 year in India to apply/renew passport, is that true?

what is the application process? how many days will it take?

neenu USA lo chesukunaaa.... customer service  worst but easy gaanee ayipoindhi .... start chesakaa antha complex gaa emi ledhu  :police:

India lo renew is lot easier than here. I did it in India. Tatkal lo 3 days lo intiki vachindi passport.
Ikkada bls vaadu chukkalu chupichadu renewal ki.

India lo renewal tatkal antey ... Hyderabad ayithey DCP office Ki velli signature cheyinchali and then they might ask you where are you staying and if they find out if you are staying in USA for last one year ... They might ask for additional documentation ...

I did my renewal in india last year march. Old passport, aadhar card/address proof and if married marriage certificate to add spouse name in your passport. Submitted on thursday, passport delivered on monday (tatkal).

I did last year in Tatkal. They did not ask any of these. It was very smooth

nenu recent ga chepicha india lo.. Tatkal got my renewed passport with 24hrs.. no sign from SP or any additional documents.. 

 

Applied Friday afternoon, got it on Saturday
