this thread got all links and very detailed information.....related to passport renewal in US.

 

 

Tips from me for Postal mail renewal process....:

 

1.Get USPS or UPS printed ...sending and returning envelopes with tracking number....This should be done before filling-in the BLS form.

 

(there are columns in BLS form where you need to fill-in main and return envelope tracking or airway bill numbers)

 

2.Start the passport renewal process 4-5 months before passport expiry date.....

 

if the passport expiry date is 30th August, 2016 ...start the process on April, 1st ,2016 onwards....

 

so that you can plan ...extensions...stampings...and India trips....without any issues....

 

also you can avoid tatkal process...which needs extra money.

 

3.After the usps/ ups or fedex status showing your packet delivered....

 

SEND an EMAIL to B L S Int ernati onal....and you will get an reply immediately.....

 

B L S WILL NOT RESPOND TO PHONE CALLS.....

BLS Receipt Number => XXXXXXXx Current Aplication Status : underprocess Application accepted by BLS: 26-02-2016 , 11:50 Application Processed on Date :26-02-2016 Application Processed and submitted to Consulate : - Passport received at BLS Center : - Passport handed over to Applicant : - Passport Dispatched to Applicant :-

Important notes:

Do not staple or clip the documents

 

Paste all photographs wherever applicable All documents need to be A4 or 8* X 11* inches All documents must be printed one sided (no back to back pages) Keep all the documents in one envelope i.e. photographs, Money order etc. 

 

Sorting Order for other categories

 

1 Online Application Form.

2 BLS Order Form

3 National Verification Form as per your category

4 Passport copies first five and last two pages

5 Notarized valid visa copies.

6 One notarized valid address proof as per your jurisdiction.

7 Notarized marriage certificate and notarized first and last page of spouse valid passport if applicable Note: You don’t need to send MC and spouse passport copies if spouse name is already endorsed in the passport.

8 Notarized change of appearance affidavit if applicable.

9 Notarized self-explanation letter why the passport is not renewed on time if applicable

10 Notarized Affidavit for Lost, Damaged and Passport expired for more than 6 months if applicable

11 Notarized Deed Poll affidavit if applicable.

12 Notarized Name Changed Affidavit if applicable

13 Notarized No Status affidavit if applicable
