Jnu Row: Rss Wants To Make India Hindu-Fascist Rashtra: Yechury - Ndtv

I never said barkha and other TV elitists are hallmark of intellectuals that RW wants to match them ..I was talking about how hard it is to occupy the space and how much power they hold in terms of perception building both in domestic and global narrative of how RW is seen.

Case in point is the whole Intolerance debate -- and now the same usual suspects are saying it's unfair to brand an entire University as "anti-national" when only a handful of people are doing some unwanted things and they were very happily projecting an image that the whole RW/Hindu society is intolerant in India.

And your idea of an "Intelligent/non-partisan/Intellectual social scientist" is people like "yogendra yadav" and then you say you are not leftist in your views ...for all I care He is the kind of "scum" that has been keeping India as a socialist/marxist country with their Idealistic/Utopian/Holier than Thou thoughts. These are the "scum" who use students/other innocent youth to do their bidding in Universities and other institutions and when the ###### hits the head throw them to fend for themselves -- the arrested JNU leader Kanhaya kumar was not even provided with a legal counsel in the court. No LW/all the bleeding hearts even came to his rescue apart from trying to gain political mileage in TV studios and writing editorials. I at least saw some staunch RWs raising this issue in social media. Same thing with Rohith -- no one talks about how he was disenchanted with the LW/Ambedkar unions (as mentioned in his letter/struck off) but are quick to jump into say that he killed himself because of upper caste oppression.

Regular politicians also do this (use and throw student unions and others) but everyone knows they are "evil" and not to be believed .. there is a general perception about them. But these LW/social scientists/bleeding hearts come in the garb of "we are pro-dalit/pro-minorities/we are good people" trust us and we will take you into the light. That scum seetaram yechury's children are studying in US universities and he wants JNU/other students to take to the streets and fight "their" battles and then he has the smugness to lecture everyone on how the left is for the oppressed and poor and are "selfless/holier than thou" saints. First rate "scums' all of them.

And again don't say you have "anecdotal evidence" from your personal experience that majority of Hindus are "anti-reservations" and want to repeal them. GIve me instances where as a popular movement there was a call for relook/revamp/repeal of reservations from upper caste hindus. Evils of hindus on dalits -- again no one had comprehensive stats on this so -- point me to stats if you have happy to change my stand.

You can claim that all the parties in India are RW in your opinion but that's your prerogative ...either you are ignorant about what qualifies as left/right in India (don't give me US/global definitions) or you don't care. By now if you did not get what I mean by LW?RW with respect to Indian scene then leave it.

On economic front there are many RWs with excellent understanding on various aspects/initiatives like GST. On this topic don't expect Avg RWinger/Hindu to be as well informed as the editorial/intellectual lot will be. Thats ridiculous.

LW/social scientists cry human/moral/ethical angel when talking about dalit problems and blaming upper castes and ask RWs to not go by stats and be logical/rational and when some RW guy wants to talk about how the dalits should also try from their side to prosper by taking advantage of various schemes (reservations is only one of the many) and at least make an effort to come out of the perennial poverty - they have a problem want to lecture them on how it is the dalits prerogative to do what they want with reservations and no one has the right to tell them. Actually these LW scum like Yogendra thrive on keeping these poor dalits oppressed forever -- they are no better than you avg "scum" upper caste politician. And the politician at least faces the daily dose of insults hurled at him for being  corrupt/scum.

What is RW according to you? you keep shifting goalposts.

Is it Hindu right or economic right?

economic right can make no popular argument in a country where majority are poor, and more than 1/3 live on less than 100rs a day.

What do you mean LW 'cry' on ethical/moral issues? Are they not important?

Next you'll tell me that brahmins-only tenant ads are a reaction to the 'leftist' control of institutions in India.

If you agree that India is casteist, what exactly are you arguing about? About how dalits should suffer it, and come through, which will make their victory even sweeter?

reservations is not implemented properly in India. govt. offices have about 70% OCs on average. and lesser number of sc/st than their reservation entails.

Its not LW that is running away from stats.

As for the upper caste popular movement against reservation, it won't happen. There's enough resentment against the upper castes as it is. If it does happen, people will either laugh at their idiocy or make them even more politically irrelevant.

So they probably use people like Hardik Patel to do their bidding.

Your complaints against leftism sounds a bit like Reddy vs Kamma fight in AP.

Both of them entrenched upper castes, colluding (if not by design) to keep other castes out.

the same holds true for left vs right in India. both are useless.

Hindu right can create new social political consciousness by embracing the lowest caste.

But in a country where people offer excuses for 'Brahmin-only' tenant ads, it is not possible.

If you point to similar 'Muslim/Christian-only' ads, that's also right wingism only. but from the other side.

If the society is so divided, and sections of people marginalized, then what's the point of being a country?

Why not divide it further and let the 'unwanted' people form their own country and live with dignity

The more dalits/muslims get educated and politically involved, the more India will move towards the left.

It is slowly happening, and is great for the people of India.

Only now has leftism started. both Congress and BJP are scared of this. even AAP.

most dalits who come through such systems are only resentful of india. Unless they are in business, and have to bear the ignominy of being a dalit among upper castes, so they smile through it, and don't entertain thoughts of protesting.

same goes for muslims. But the moment a muslim expresses his thoughts, he is branded a wannabe Jihadi. Most likely, he was not even that religious before you start branding him, and push him directly into Islamic brotherhood.

I have only one question for your sweeping generalizations on "everything" ... what is the universe for your extrapolation ...I can give you many anecdotes of dalits/muslims openly expressing their pro-anything views in my and my extended friends circle....

I get it. I exist only to be your sound board. Whatever I say, hence, becomes 'extrapolation'.

This way, you can safely avoid the questions I asked, and ask more questions irrelevant to what's being discussed.

The basic premise of your argument that Indian institutions are left infested may be true, but the power is not in the hands of the left, as you seem to assume.

You have a great extended circle then. I do too.

one section of my circle (from my family's side) is not that great though. and online Hindutva mobs are not hard to miss.

You make bombastic claims about the left and the rationality of the right, but you can't explain why the RW is against caste census. Why hasn't BJP released the data to the public?

social sciences naturally tend towards the left. the left infestation in academia is a phenomena the world over. Not unique to India.

Its too bad that the right doesn't have a decent argument to make, but they will suffer like his until they get away from the 'Hindu' tag. and focus on stats.

Then the left and right will intersect.
