Banjara Natural Henna - No Chemicals And No Preservatives $2

A few years ago, before it was chopped off to make space for heaven knows what, we had a henna tree in our backyard. Every Sunday, my sister and I used to have the maid grind its leaves on a stone grinder that my grandmother had.  We would add some curd to it and coat our hairs slick with the paste for one hour before washing it off with “amla-reetha-shikakai,” which had been soaked in water overnight. We did this religiously and the efforts showed in our thick, lustrous, shining, not-so-long (my mother would have them chopped every two months if they crossed shoulder length) hair.  After the tree was chopped off, I switched to the powdered ones available in market. Even they worked fine for me as long as I mixed either eggs or yogurt to them before applying on hair, failing to do which led my hair to turn extremely dry and frizzy, but then, I moved to a different city and all my carefully acquired habits took a backseat, the brunt of which my hair had to bear.  I have again started my weekly henna regimen and today I will review for you henna from a  brand that I have grown to love very much – Banjara’s.
