1) No matter what happens, change oil @ 3000miles/3 months whatever happens first

 

2) most cars need timing belt change ~100,000 miles or 5years. Ignore it and you will end up paying 4k in engine gasket repair

 

3) buy manual transmission car if possible, between 120-150k you will pay maybe 1k in clutch repair, old automatic transmission can cost 5k or more

 

4) If your insurance bill is higher than gas bill, may be you can manage without a car. Cars are one of the worst investment you can make in US. a new car costing 25k over the period of 8 years, driven 120k miles will cost you easily 60K or above including repairs, gas, insurance etc. A used car while not that dramatic, can be expensive due to hidden repairs etc. If you have good public transit, use it. you don't need a car to go 2 miles to the train station, a bicycle will do

students aithy go for toyota...I don't suggest old Hondas and Nissan transmission probs ekkuva 2000-2003 cars...toyota cheap and best for students

huh, got you beat. drove an '88 accord for 1.5 years. tarvata my friend took it and drove 1 more year

88 aa.. #arachakam Brahmi-2.gif civic is still outside home.. Gotta get rid of it

of course I got it in 2001, adi vere vishayam :-) Best steering wheel of any car I had ever driven, butter lo tippinattu tirugutundi. newer generations electronic feedback etc, nothing can compare
