Mavni Bisket?

This is not at all related to Mavni. With Mavni, you are getting your citizenship right out of BCT so are you telling me they will take it back once you finish your contract duration?

This is more specific to those people that are in the US illegally to begin with who enlist into the military to get citizenship, there are lots of Latinos and people of Hispanic origin who are in this situation. I have met one Latino gentleman who enlisted in the Marines to get his citizenship, in certain cases some of them are getting deported once they finish their contract. However you have to note that MAVNI is a specialized program that requires a person in the US to be on a legal status whether J1, F1, H1, or L1 the 2 years prior to his enlistment.

Also there's a thorough background check conducted on these applicants often for 6 months or so before being shipped to BCT. So this is not at all applicable to MAVNI, repeat this is not at all applicable to MAVNI.

there are multiple streams to join US army for foreigners. To my understanding, mavni is highly selective and has a higher rank. don't think they are treated as frontline soldiers, but could be wrong

You are right. You start at an E4 via MAVNI which is a Specialist and a rank on par with a Corporal although a Corporal has more power and authority. Also you report to a Sergeant directly so it's not like a MAVNI enlistee is starting at an E1(private) level.

Also there's an option via MAVNI to apply for ROTC(Reserve officer training corps) or Officer commission(if you are in Active duty) upon satisfying your MOS requirements for atleast one year and getting a recommendation from your commanding officer, pending a successful security clearance. Such options don't exist for an enlistee starting at an E1.

No sympathy needed. This is not at all applicable to MAVNI, the joke is on you bro.

I'm least bothered about this program. btw I have a question for you why ppl from indian origin really care abt MAVNI ? why don't they join Indian army if they really want to serve the country ?

thought so. also noticed that regardless of how nice a person can be, people get vicarious satisfaction from bad things which may happen to them

Because we have something called "Free will". We are free to choose what we want to do in life and given an opportunity we like for a nation we like, we would choose that over other alternatives.

It's pretty much the same reason why your fellow Indian brothers and sisters are coming here in droves every year. Why dont' they stay back and serve India, contribute to the local economy there etc.

Atleast the US Govt firmly stands behind it's soldiers.

Look at how our Indian Govt. treated the case of Saurabh Kalia, what did they do in his case?? His dad has been crying for 16 years asking this case to be taken to the Internation Court of Justice, did the Indian Govt do anything about it.

A nation that doesn't treat it's soldiers with respect doesn't deserve them.

Go and ask the ones that apply for Green Cards, H1B extensions and eventually become citizens here why they are doing that.

If you think you are being a patriot by not applying for your GC and going back to India after your 6 years are over on H1B that's fine it's your wish. Not everyone agrees with it though. For that matter why even come here, why don't you go do social service for the crores of homeless people, orphan kids in India right now?

If so many people from India aren't desperate for a GC and eventually a Citizenship in the US, why do we have such a huge backlog only for people from India? Please answer this question.
