OMB approved OPT STEM Extension final Rule proposed by DHS. As soon as the final rule published on federal register rule will be implemented. This new rule will help OPT students to get 24 months OPT.

03/04/2016: Good News for STEM OPT Stakeholders - OMB Approved Final Rule!

• The deadline imposed by the court is May 12, 2016, but on 03/02/2016, the White House OMB approved this final rule. As soon as this final rule is published in the federal register, the final rule will be implemented. It is anticipated that the ICE will not take too much time to publish this rule in the federal register soon. Please stay tuned.

all OPT students eligible for stem extension will get 24 months extension instead on 17 months so it will be 12 + 24 = 36 months OPT
