American Accent And Proficiency In English

Reading will not help improve your fluency. You need to talk and have conversations with someone who is good at it. Join the local meetup groups and spend sometime.

Watch cnn , fox new etc., reading doesn't help much .. It will help improve ur vocabulary tho

I watched  pawkalyan ( Interview - Anupama Chopra)  last night and i was admired by the way he spoke.  

 

Eventually that admiration did led me in a direction where i had to question myself,  my ability of Talking and writing new words in English.

At work when i am talking to some one. I do feel awkward sometimes when i am trying hard to collect words. I feel embarrassed when i pause each time when i conveying something. I do feel taken away when i have my fellow Desis convey in an efficient way in english,  I am not jealous at their ability. I fell that i am not being recognized for my hard earned accomplishment at work as i am not conveying the results for my work in the right way.

I am looking for a way to educate myself and gain a proficiency level in English that would help me embrace building my carrier career in a better way. I do know that it is same with many of us in this DB.  I do accept that i have posted many useless posts on this Public form.  I know want to make an attempt to change my self. My main intention of this post is to receive  inputs from  English Experts who can pour their ideas to help people like me.

 

Note: I am not asking  to mentor me . I am  asking  to point me the  resources and informational sources which can help people like me . I strongly believe that there is a smart way of accomplishing this.

download any podcasts app (so many in app store and android play store).. search for eslpod (english as a second language podcast) .. it helps .. also watch english drama series.. the more you watch and use any good sentences in your daily life , it's easier to gain proficiency .. also reading books helps.. instead of starting with fiction, you can start with books having simpler english, more of contemporary novels

Intha proficient ga rasaavu english lo. You are doing ok. It is not required to use complex words. Keep it simple. 100 words vocabulary tho kuda strong messages convey cheyyachu. Slow ga, simple ga matladu. Try to prepare in advance, if you know what you are going to face.
