Republicans are rank morons. For generations they voted to give huge concessions to corporates, award them with even more concessions for breaking the backs of labour unions, etc.

 

All for what? because they wanted the right to force women to keep babies they don't want. and for not allowing gay men to get married. 

 

Now they went one step further, and are trying to elect a fascist clown.

Canada is already suffering with losing a great number of high paying jobs to US precisely because of leaders like this, who are unable to take a public stand on the importance of improving competitiveness in an economy.

 

Its a bit sad how many intelligent Canadians have to find a job in the US, because Canada sucks.

this Trudeau fellow was pro TPP during the election campaign, and now his support depends on which side of the bed he wakes up in the morning. Mostly because he's unable to say anything remotely intelligent to the opposition for the deal.

I understand Bernie's opposition to TPP. he's in redneck country, and US would do well to slide back and be level with Canada.

 

I respect it, and encourage US implosion.

china can't sell their copied phones in the west. so what's the point? blackberry never made the kind of profits Apple made, because of trade tariffs in Canada. Who knows such extra cash could have afforded RIM a better business strategy team.

 

But it has spawned a great silicon valley like beginnings in waterloo. Its chairman has utilized his wealth to create public institutions focused on scientific research, including basic research.

 

Canada is home to QNX, which is still the most used OS in embedded applications.

 

Canada has enough brain power, perhaps on par with US per capita. Or may be even more. They consistently fare much better than the US in all PISA rankings for science and maths.

it stops when corporates are reimagined, and huge corporations are broken into smaller more manageable teams, that have enough liquidity to be competitive.
