Machine Learning Algorithms is not a Programming Language or use of API, which we can just use and give results. Before using any algorithm you need to do prliminary analysis on the Data, you need to get the economics of Data and Columns (Variables).. Check econometrics.. why to use such an Algorithm for creating a Mathematical Models.. What columns (Vectors) to be used.. Its more than this.. since management decision depends on the results provided from these Models. 

 

And again, IT working on Analytics is a Bull Shit.. that is why we have Data scientists, Data Strategists, Predictive modellers.. Now most of the Companies has started Analytics division in every organization.. It works with IT and Business.. but never be part of IT. 

 

Bigdata Projects failed in most of the Companies.. this is only because IT implementing Big Data Analytics without knowing Proper Analytics.. Now Companies realized importance of dedicated Analytics team.. 

 

If you really want to learn, yes dedicate 6 months, learn Statistics, Probability, Machine learning, Econometrics.. R, Python is simple for any IT person to Pick up.. Do kaggle Projects and you will be ready..
