I thought in Aus vs Ind match, who ever wins will go to semis as they both have same points at this point.

 

Why does the following column states differently?

 

 

 

India will be playing the last league match with Australia at Mahauli on Sunday. But that maybe a routine exercise rather than serious play owing to the better net run rate of Australia. 

The Aussies can afford to lose on Sunday and still be in the reckoning provided they maintain the run rate. India has no such luxury. 

India will have to do a great deal more to get a semi-final berth, not only beating Australia but also beating it by a big margin.
