what OCs have to understand is reservation is a must for SC/ST.

But there are two major observations here

1) I have seen few dalits benefit immensely because of reservation who came from a miserable background and

2) I have personally known few of my dalit friends rendered useless because of reservation. They are too complacent to do anything

I think we should start thinking about current generation of dalits who get reservation benefits to forego reservation atleast to their grand kids. This will ensure that the above mentioned second point does not happen.

He actually turned the Wheel of the Law, but when the wheel is over turning, it was the job of the subsequent generations to control it. The governments failed to reform it over the period of time.

Friends, reservations were never correct before and will not be correct afterwards. Ambi and whoever implemented this short term stuff were wrong at that time as well.

As mentioned earlier when you "reserve" something for someone based on what caste they are coming from, that ideology itself is discriminatory regardless whether the intention was to keep it for a short or a long term.

Here is what I had mentioned before as well. The constitution allows us democracy where people can elect their "representative" so they are "represented". We have your local level elected representatives who truly represent the people of a particular region. If there are free and fair elections which is the job of the law and order or rather police to make such, then that local level elected representative "represents" everyone including oc/bc/sc/st etc.

Ok, so now the argument comes whether sc/st are even aware of the fact that they can elect their representative? This is what was the job of Ambi, our potty mouth friend here, and everyone who thinks their community is not being "represented". However, they didn't do this, instead said, ok let's "reserve" some seats, you know, like an easy, lazy, and a faster way of doing things rather than working on the grass root level trying to educate them and bring the awareness. One of the probabilities is that at that time there were peope less in number from sc/st who can actually work on the grass root level to bring this awareness and guide them to light from ignorance. So, they could have thought, based on the situation at that time, it would take long time for them to bring this awareness and education so adopted the "short-cut". This laziness and this discriminatory ideology has been the root cause of current generation's issues.

This is the same as, let's say , the teacher ordered a cake. Then the teacher said all children can eat the cake so all kids were happy. But since however sc/st dont know that a cake is edible, so let's take a short cut, they will have it "reserved" so they can eat as much as they want, the oc kids can eat only certain %. Now, the question is, is it the teachers fault that the teacher failed to teach the sc/st kids what a cake is? Or is it the OC kids fault that they know already that cake is edible?

So, 2 things, if you want to be "represented" the government already allows you to choose your representative via free and fair elections. Second, if you want to seek equality in social status, then again, reservations will not help you achieve that, it's a different thing.

Ambi did a mistake by not fighting for equality or against discrimation. Our potty mouth, and some of us all are not really fighting against discrimation but the fight is for development of your own caste via discriminating others quoting some illogical propaganda that the current generation's bad situation is because of what past generations have done to their past generations whom both do not exist anymore.

So, quesion is, many people, after availing reservations, are they going back to their communities and working at the grass root level educating them to bring them out from darkness to light? Nope, why take a tedious and boring process of working on the grass root level right, anyways, who cares, as long as OC people are not fighting against this discrimination we keep the ball rolling and give some illogical reason of quoting past generations, and yes, everyone else from sc/st community also use the same short-cut, this beats the purpose of why reservations were put in the constitution for.

But unfortunately, tables will turn one day, any misuse, any discrimation won't last long. We learnt from history that governments that discriminate were brought down and I just hope that our future generations make this process as smoothly as possible as we don't want to see our brothers and sisters hurting each other.

Fight for equal opportunities, fight for educating every child in our country, fight against discrimation in enjoying basic necessities of life, fight against nepotism,  fight against corruption. Those are the things you need to fight for not for keeping your reservations for your children and children's children.

He is great in his own way, overcoming many social (so called untouchables) and financial obstacles he became the first person to obtain college degree in India from the so called untouchables.

If the topic is on reservations there are flaws in it which I don't wanna discuss beyond this.

As far as stupid analogies go, I haven't seen a more stupid one than the one you tried to present here.

Even if someone were to make sense of the nonsense you just typed, It makes my point better than it makes yours.

In a normal school, attended by normal kids, a normal teacher would simply give a piece of the cake to everyone. In your kind of 'merit' school, the cake will be brought in to give only to the top 10 rankers, while the rest watched them eat the cake.

Ofcourse your kind of 'merit' school will only have stupid kids, shepherded by stupid teachers, and it will resemble the kind of country upper caste fcuks like you want India to be.
