Main important note, you need to apply the visa from the country where you stay more days. ex: If your trip is for 6 countries (Swis - 2days ,Italy- 2,germany-2,france-3 ,belgim-1 & Netherlands-3) and total travel days is 13, you can apply the visa from Frence or dutch ambessay only because due to more days. Nenu ayte kavali ani French embassy choose chesukuna actually I planned for 2 days trip in frence, but for easy visa process I choose French embassy by adding one more day. After  I got visa I cut my travel and changed flight tickets accordingly. There are more motels / hostels where you can book and pay by cash later. My bet is choose Hostels to enjoy a lot. Mainly Italy lo ayte hostels and swis alphs ayte motels.

Note: I am from UK and travelled on 2012.
