Case Details:

I-94 Validity : Sep 11 2016
H1B Amendment applied: November 2015 - Regular processing - No response till date
i797 Expiry Date: Dec 18, 2016
H1B Visa Expiry Date: Sep 1, 2016

As I foresee India travel in the next few months(1-2 months). I had few questions pertaining to my H1B extension/Stamping and my Amendment.
I would truly appreciate if someone can help me in answering the below questions and any suggestions would be really helpful.

1. When do you recommend me to travel to India and get my Visa stamped?
Would it be okay if I apply for H1B extension (Premium Processing) after Jun 18(180 Days from the day of expiry) ?

2. Assuming my H1B extension applied (after Jun 18) in premium and got the approval no later than Jul 1, 2016.
Would it be advisable to go for VISA stamping  after Jul 1, 2016 and before Sep 1, 2016?

3. Does H1B extension takes priority over the Amendment? Please do let me know.
What I have learnt is you NEED NOT apply for Amendment if you are applying for a H1B extension? Is it true? Please do confirm.

4. Am I eligible for drop box since I had my first H1B stamping in India with another employer.

I am really confused. Since I have an impending travel outside the US, I want to ensure that I am stepping in the right direction.

Your inputs are highly valued.

Thanks for your help.
