Why Is Telugu Media Ignoring NTR?

Strange are the ways of our media. There is a lot of matter behind media coverage of any activity or a person, whether it is positive or negative. They have been selectively promoting not only politicians but also film personalities.

Various factors – caste, community and political – play a key role in blowing certain directors out of proportion or promoting certain heroes beyond their talent level.

Perhaps, the same factors seem to be the reason for the Telugu media showing discrimination against Junior NTR.

There are doubts that the media is ignoring him under the influence of some powerful forces, if one were to go by their coverage of his films.

When the first look of any big hero’s film is released, media creates a lot of hype. Television channels carry stories about the film based on this poster round the clock and print media projects the same as their banner in their film pages.

We have seen how the first look posters of Sardar Gabbar Singh and Brahmotsavam made big news in the media. Same was the case with the budding heroes who recorded their first hits; and also seniors like Nagarjuna, Venkatesh and Balakrishna and young heroes like Nani and Nitin, whose first look posters created sensation in the media.

However, the same media conveniently ignored the first look poster of Janata Garage, starring Junior NTR. Not just pro-ruling party media in Andhra Pradesh, but also other sections of media, including 24X7 news channels and the largest circulated dailies, have not given enough coverage to Janata Garage.

In fact, the film is being keenly awaited by not only Jr NTR fans, but also common audiences, because it was directed by Koratala Siva who made the blockbuster film Srimanthudu and also because Malayalam actor Mohanlal acted in it. Yet, the media ignored it.

Not only that, the Telugu media, which give a lot of hype to the birthdays of heroes and other celebrities, did not bothered to give coverage to Jr NTR’s birthday. They have not carried any exclusive interviews with him as they do with other celebrities.

There is a talk that the media is dancing to the tunes of Telugu Desam Party leadership which does not want Jr NTR to grow into a popular figure!

NO matter how far it is true...it is good to be less hyped rather giving more hype and giving a dud like dhammu etc etc...
