do you think there's difference between a dalit party (with a dalit leader), and a dalit MLA from a major party who will not be given any portfolio?

TN had two incredibly articulate, accomplished dalit leaders. One of whom decided to contest without aligning with the major parties. He lost by 87 votes. A dummy independent candidate with a similar name, and a very similar election symbol got around 200 votes.
