Not the term. but your explanation of what happens when loans are disbursed more liberally under lesser interest rates. It won't cause currency devaluation, as long as the productive capacity increases proportionally.

Rajan asks the govt. to get up from their asses and make sure that the decrease in interest rates will not concentrate wealth at the top. People will always be able to pay back their loans and some won't. The question is, how many benefit from such loans. and who.

Swamy is right. India is primed for a huge productivity increase, and the current interest rates are a joke. Decreasing them will unlock tremendous economic capacity of India, atleast for the next 3-4 yrs.

But he also hides the fact that banking system is under the verge of a collapse with mounting NPAs. NPAs which exist because of structural governance issues in the country, among other things.

Rajan is also right to ask the govt. to first make sure the stage is set for lowering interest rates.
