How much saving should you have in the bank?

Maa friend okadu ninna antunnadu he has only 50k in the bank in savings, vaadi friend okadiki 300k undi in 10 years of US experience ani. 

Just wondering what you guys think. Naaku pedda savings levu family appulu teercha and apart from that brought a house I am paying for right now in India. But I am amazed that some folks have more than 100k in savings accounts. Is this common or not so common? emantaru?
