10 Tollywood Celebs Who Studied In The US

Interesting story on educational and professional lives of the new gen film personalities.

Studied Mechanical Engineering at CBIT, Hyderabad. Went for Masters in Computer Science at the University of New Jersey, USA. Lost zeal in the job at Citicorp and left it and being huge a Chiranjeevi fan, did his Masters in Film Arts at Howard University.

Krish

Bachelors in Pharmacy. Masters in Computer Science at the University of New Jersey. Worked as a software engineer before starting an independent consultancy. With passion on cinema left everything, sold a house and produced Gamyam and the rest is history.

Laxmi Manchu

Completed her Bachelors degree in Theater from Oklahoma City University and continued at University of Southern California for film production. She also attended training at the Beverly Hills Playhouse. Appeared in famous TV series like Las Vegas, Desperate House Wives and Mystery ER before storming into Tollywood with her Father’s Legacy

Vennela Kishore

Masters in Information systems from Ferris State University. Worked as Software Quality Engineer. Always wanted to be a film maker and started working towards his dream by acting in Vennela.

Praveen Sattaru

Masters in Wright State University. Worked at Microsoft for 11 years before joining the industry and directed the National Award Winning “Chandamama Kathalu”.

Deva Katta

Masters in Mechanical Engineering at Wayne State University. Worked as Systems Engineer at Delphi before directing the cult comedy “Vennela”.

Shobu Yarlagadda

Bachelors at Andhra University in Civil Engineering, Masters at Texas A & M University in Environmental Engineering and worked as an engineer at California Air Resources board before venturing into production and made India’s biggest visual wonder, “Baahubali”.

Pavan Sadineni

University of Oklahoma Masters. Rose to prominence with short films-Bewarse and Interview. Directed Prema Ishq Kadal and Savitri.

Srinivas Avasarala

Mechanical Engineering graduate from US worked for Princeton Plasma  Physics Laboratory. Left it with passion for cinema and majored in Screen writing at University of California Los Angeles and also acting classes at Lee Strasberg Theatre and Film Institute, New York City

Harish Koyalagundla

Bachelors in IT from MGIT, Hyderabad. Studied Masters at Ferris State University before joining Epsilon as a software engineer. Left everything for passion for cinema and started his acting career

KTR moved from US to India after MBA and job

Lokesh moved from US to India after MBA and not sure weather he is completed it or not.

Kavaitha moved from US to India along with his husband.

 

Nagarjuna and Venkatesh completed their PG and came back to India to act in Movies.
