Naa friend okadu chepthunde. Rajan is saying that he's ready to serve his 'country' anytime any, but he is clever enough to not mention the country's name ani @3$%

Paul Krugman wrote scathingly about Rajan, sometime in 2012 when Obama was up for reelection. He was lambasting Rajan for siding with the republican talking points about how govt. monetary policy was the reason for 2008 collapse.

So my friend's contention is that, Rajan took the Indian job because Romney didn't have much chance to get reelected, and hence he'd have no chance to get the Fed Chair job in the next 4yrs.

Now that there's a chance for a republican to be president, its the perfect time for Rajan to come back to the US.

Rajan thanks Swamy. @3$%

Very good point I didn't realize this. Of course people in India are overly emotional about these issues, but I didn't know he was a closet Republican supporter.

em confidential matters telustaayi anukuntunnav? Everything about RBI and Fed is public record.

some of the data they get, to make their decisions may not be public, but it can be compiled by private financial companies too.

The job is not as important as it is made out to be. Even the Fed chair.

No. We were fooling around, laughing at the hysteria over him back in India.

He's not probably not political. We just made the connection because Paul Krugman in an essay (more like a book review), while commending him for being one of the first to call the mortgage crisis in 2008, lambasts him for missing the details of the housing crisis, and buying into Republican talking points, in his book 'Fault Lines'.

The essay is here:

Its just a damnn RBI gov job. Plenty others can do it too. But doubt those others can stand up to the govt. the way Rajan did.

ee GC gola endi babu? tokkalo GC. He can buy SG visa, and enter US under many different visa categories.

may be many other ways you know of. pretty sure GC is not an issue at all. He's not a mid range IT worker. An accomplished economist.

majority economists are not political.

Krugman is openly democratic though. And he accuses anyone he disagrees with as republican. So it was a joke.
